Electrical TestingHow We Do It

As a fully-certified service, we are able to provide a number of safety tests.

EICR

Electrical Installation Condition Reports are the most common type of report that landlord’s give following inspections. We are able to provide certification for landlords to do this.

Under new regulations, any contract renewal is now treated as a new tenancy, so an EICR may be required upon renewal even if a new tenancy is not drawn up.

If the report finds the electrics unsatisfactory, the landlord is required to investigate or remedy within 28 days. EICR helps keep tenants safe and landlords in-the-know about their properties.

PAT

Portable Appliance Testing is an essential way to safety check any electrical appliances with a plug that attaches to a wall outlet, including fridges and toasters. We can carry out effective PAT.

Most defects can be discovered upon visual examination – others can only be found by testing the appliances.

There are currently no specifications in place as to how often PAT’s need to be carried out, but it can still be important to have a professional regularly perform them, particularly for more dangerous appliances, like power tools.
